If the rune cutters had wanted to say Ave Maria, they would have used the runes above. Thus we need to translate "AVM" as just a simple Latin abbreviation. Turning to the inside front cover of any Latin dictionary we translate "AVM" like this. "A" is a standard Latin abbreviation for the Latin word for year: annus, "V" and "M" are roman numerals for 5 and 1000. Thus the Latin abbreviation "AVM" can be translated into modern English as :Year 995".

On the Kensington rune stone is the rune made of these three characters O+" I am looking for any posible source for this rune.  Do you have any ideas.  I think it may come from the east, but I have had no luck finding it.

As far as I have been able to find, there is no such rune and never has been, apart from the Kensington inscription.  Hjalmar Holand (one of the few supporters of the stone's authenticity) claims that it is based on a 13th century manuscript version of 'o'-umlaut, which actually has a small inverted 'v' over it (no 'x') - his claim is that the two ends of the 'v' were separated by accident, making it look like two dots.  This all sounds like a serious stretch to me, but then again I don't really buy anything
Holand has to say on the subject <g>.

Early thoughts on the Kensington Stela by Peter Sjolander July 1992
8Goths ( 75 miles of flat land is one Goth) and 22 Norsemen (27 miles of mountains is one Norseman) west of here on foot is a sea with an excellent port with two ways to the sea.  One days sail north of this latitude. (Vancouver B. C.)  We spent one decade on that coast.  Before we got back we had made friends with ten indian tribes with blood (sex) and death (went on the war path with them).  Please god.  Don't send us to hell for that.

one Goth" could be like the travel from Helsengborg to So"lvesborg (flat).
one "Norseman" could be like the travel from Bergen to Voss (mountains)

So very close to my modern GPS center point

A grand and current marker
